Q: How early should I start my visa application?
A: Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before your travel date. Some embassies have limited appointments and longer processing times. For Schengen visas, the latest you can apply is 15 days before departure. No later.
Q: Do I need to have my flights and accommodation booked before I apply?
A: No. We provide reserved flights and accommodation bookings where applicable, so you don’t have to risk non-refundable bookings.
Q: Will the embassy keep my passport during processing?
A: Yes, in most cases your passport will be held by the relevant consulate or visa centre until a decision has been made. If you have other travel planned, make sure to factor this in. For UK visa applications, there is an option to retain your passport during processing for an additional fee.

Q: How long is a Schengen Type C short-stay visa valid for?
A: The validity of a Schengen visa depends on several factors, including your travel itinerary, the number of days you're applying for, and the financial proof submitted. There is a minimum daily Euro amount required to justify your stay.
Your previous visa history also plays a key role. First-time applicants usually receive a visa valid only for the exact travel dates requested. However, applicants with a strong travel history and multiple previously-used Schengen visas may be granted longer, multiple-entry visas, regardless of the trip duration.
While rare, some travellers have been issued Schengen visas valid for up to 5 or 6 years. At minimum, if your documents and funds are in order, you’ll typically receive a visa that matches the length of your itinerary.

Q: How long does it take to process a UK visitor visa?
A: Standard processing time is around 15 working days from the date of your biometric appointment. In some cases, it may take longer depending on the season or complexity of your application. Priority processing is available at an additional cost and usually takes 5 working days.
Q: How long is a UK visitor visa valid for?
A: You can apply for a UK visitor visa that’s valid for 6 months, 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years. The visa fee increases with the duration you select. If approved, the visa will be valid for the period you applied and paid for.
Regardless of the overall validity, you may only stay in the UK for up to 180 days per visit.
